Irish girl Liga visits Kerala for ayurvedic therapy, goes missing.
Liga Skromane, a 33-year-old Latvian national, that has been residing in Ireland has been missing from Trivandrum, Kerala since March 14, 2018.
Seven days into Liga missing, the police and her family don't have any clue about her whereabouts. Liga's sister, Ilze Skormane alleges that it took at least five times for the Kerala government authorities to act.
Ilze along with Liga's husband, Andrew Jordan, have decided to intensify the hunt in regions of Kovalam and Vizhinjam at Thiruvananthapuram in State of Kerala.
Her husband Andrew and Ilze happen to be wandering around the roads of the state capital Kerala for more than 5 days now. Andrew, holding a poster of his wife's photograph is offering a reward of Rs 1 lakh for anybody who would help to locate her.
They've searched every nook and corner of Kovalam and Vizhinjam shore, where Liga was last seen on March 14th.
In accordance with Ilze, Liga and himself were in Kerala since February 21 for an ayurvedic treatment for Liga. The women have been treated for depression disorder that was neurotic.
On March 14, Liga went missing from the treatment centre in Pothencode. Based on the inputs from the rickshaw drivers, it was discovered that she took a ride towards Kovalam beach.
Some regional vendors on the beach also affirmed they saw her at the beach in the day. However, since then there has not been any information about Liga, states Ilze.
Andrew alleged that local authorities has made hardly any progress in the situation.
"The way in which the police are acting we aren't getting anywhere. It's truly frustrating. Just in the past 24 hours, anything has moved locally. We've been trying to get in contact with senior officials but they've been giving nothing but assurances."
Liga's sister stated they were tweeting to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj but didn't receive any response from the Indian minister. The family fears that Liga who is under depression, is vulnerable and that she might have been held captive.
Yesterday, a female body was discovered at the Kulachal port but the family confirmed it's not Liga's. However, the government authorities are planning to get a DNA test.
